Aromatherapy

This holistic treatment cares for the body with pure botanical oils. Each client receives a massage with a unique blend of essential oils, created specifically for them. Benefits include reduction of fatigue, invigoration of the body, and pain relief.

Core Belief Engineering

A one-on-one alternative psychotherapy that identifies subconscious outdated or limiting beliefs and replaces them with our own original natural beliefs that support happiness and success, physical health and emotional wellbeing.

Counselling

The art and skill of active and compassionate listening combined with emotional support, education and guidance. Individual or relationship counselling provides an opportunity to discuss issues or difficulties within an impartial, safe, and non-judgmental invironment.

Ear Candling

This ancient healing method originated in Egypt and offers a natural technique to effectively address many ear and sinus problems. Through a process known as "convection", softer waxes and toxins are drawn out of the ear, oxidized and turned into vapours during the procedure.

Hot Stone Massage

This massage uses smooth heated basalt stones which are placed on specific acupressure points on the body. These warm stones promote a sense of relaxation and improved wellbeing.

Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT)

This approach comprehensively assesses and treats for acute and chronic pain which may be contributing to or causing a lack of full movement. A variety of therapies are used as part of this unique approach to pain and disability. Modalities include:

Cranial Therapy

A gentle hands on approach to reduce restrictions and blockages in the head, face, neck, spinal canal and pelvis. These blockages reduce the fluid flow and can cause or contribute pain to these sites. Cranial Therapy addresses the arterial, venous and lymphatic fluid systems of these structures to re-establish optimal fluid flow.

Muscle Energy Technique

A gentle hands on approach to correct for joint misalignment. This technique does not use high velocity adjustments seen with chiropractic but rather focuses on the muscular component that may be influencing the joint alignment.

Neural Tissue Tension Technique

This gentle hands on approach addresses adverse physical tensions held in nerves that may cause pain such as sciatica and carpal tunnel syndrome just to name a few. By applying minimal pressure, a nerve can release unwanted tensions thereby eliminating the pain and associated symptoms.

Strain-Counterstain Technique

This gentle hands on approach is used to influence the "automatic" part of our nervous system which controls in part tensions in arteries, veins and lymphatic tissues. When the tension is too high, adequate amounts of blood and fluids may not reach the desired organs, structures, etc. Using this technique can reduce the tensions and positive results can be seen in as little as 90 seconds.

Visceral Manipulation

This hands on technique is used to reduce tensions in and between organs which then enhances the function of that organ. Organ specific pain can be significantly reduced with the application of this approach.

Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic Medicine is a complete system of medicine. It blends the science of conventional medicine with the ancient wisdoms of natural medicine. Naturopathic Doctors (ND) have seven years of post secondary education and are trained in physical diagnosis and naturopathic treatment modalities. The ND gathers information to create an individualized treatment plan, one that addresses the patient and their lifestyle, not just the illness. Modalities include:

Botanical (Herbal) Medicine

Plants have been used for centuries for their healing properties and are in fact the foundation for modern pharmacology. This has led to ample research on the safety and effectiveness of botanical medicines.

Clinical Nutrition

Nutrition explores the world of food and supplements. Diet is the cornerstone of health -- what you put into your body determines how your body will function. With dietary modifications specifically tailored to your needs, you will be better able to function at all levels.

Homeopathic Medicine

Homeopathy is based on the Law of Similars, like remedies cure like diseases. Homeopathic medicines are made of minute amounts of plant, animal, and mineral substances. These remedies stimulate the body's inherent ability to heal itself. Homeopathy focuses on the individual's specific symptoms rather than on the cause of illness. This provides exceptionally personalized care as no two people experience an illness in the same way.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is the use of alternating hot and cold applications of water. It may be used over the whole body or specific parts. Although water therapy is simple, it provides profound effects on immunity, circulation, digestion and detoxification. Because of its simplicity, hydrotherapy can be used at home to maintain progress between visits.

Lifestyle Counselling

Lifestyle counselling is a distinguishing factor in naturopathic medicine. While being treated for current conditions, important elements to health including stress management and sleep patterns will be evaluated. From this evaluation, specific lifestyle changes will be recommended. Once incorporated, these healthy new habits create long-term health with emphasis on prevention.

Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) incorporates the use of acupuncture, herbs, diet and lifestyle to restore balance and normal function. This system of medicine recognizes that blocked energy (chi) leads to pain, disease and impaired organ function. The role of acupuncture in TCM is to remove blocked energy by inserting needles at specific points along energy meridians. This allows the chi to move through channels with ease.

Reflexology

Through gentle massage of the feet, hands or ears, reflexes which correspond to the entire body are activated. This is especially useful in inducing relaxation, stimulating circulation, and reducing stress-related disorders.

Reiki

A Japanese word derived from "ray" (divine wisdom) and "ke" (life-force energy), Reiki is a healing technique that enhances the energy field that surrounds and penetrates the physical body. This is an ancient and gentle art that relieves physical and emotional pain, reduces stress, and restores balance and harmony.

Spiritual Psychotherapy

This spiritual approach to psychotherapy recognizes that people are both human and spiritual beings holistically interconnected through body, mind, heart and spirit. Extensive clinical training is blended with spiritual framework, and pain is often understood as a catalyst for spiritual growth.

Therapeutic Massage

This hands on therapy is used to treat for pain both chronic and acute and to aid in the management of stress. Through the application of a lotion, manipulation of soft tissues of the body (skin, muscle, ligaments and tendons) is performed to increase circulation locally and thereby reduce pain and increase joing movement.
